Progression

Still not on a day of plan schedule but managing to get almost all workouts in. Need to work on getting a good strength program.

The Carmichael plan is working very good. Struggling to eat all the food required and lost 3 lbs in 1st week (with a 3rd Thursday fit in).

5 mile long run went quite well.

Nutritional Focus

Today is day 1 of the Carmichael Endurance Athlete (that's a stretch) nutritional plan (I refuse to say diet). The foods seem to be pretty interesting (read, not plan fish and rice), so I have some confidence that I can stick with it for 90% of the time. I have to lose at least 30 if not 40 lbs. if I am to achieve my long term goals (not to mention for my health). If I can run at the pace I'm running now, imagine what it will be without the extra weight.

Had good weekend, 3.5 miles on Sat., 5 miles on Sun. - lots of good time with Jack. Bought good groceries for the week.

Progress

I feel the fitness coming back, but not the pounds coming off. Had good jog with Phoebe and a multitude of pit bulls on the rails to trails on Wednesday. Not sleeping well is killing morning runs. Going on Chris Carmichael 9 week eating plan in a hope to drop some weight prior to the halfie.

In Training

Finished off the "fitness" phase with a bang. Morning was 50 min on treadmill watching TdF. Afternoon, 8 miles on mt. biking hauling Jack around Kensington on his runabout.

I am confident I can handle the running part. I really need to focus on the nutrition as the weight I need to drop is not coming off fast enough.
